Please take out a sheet of lined, white paper and answer the following questions in blank ink. Keep your eyes on your own paper. I mean it. - College is about:
- Job training;
- Broadening one's mind;
- Meeting new people
- Leaving home and becoming independent.
- Choosing a college:
- Creates stress;
- Overwhelms me;
- Is a life-changing decision;
- All of the above;
- Is no big deal (HINT: Do not select "e"!).
- I know my parent(s):
- Want what's best for me;
- Want me to make up my own mind;
- Can handle the pressure of finding the right school for me;
- Won't mind sending me to a different exotic locale for each Spring Break;
- Will support my decision no matter what, even if I decide to move to Wyoming and herd goats.
- Right now, I'd say the college search process:
- Is fairly manageable;
- Frightens me;
- Makes me want to hide during my senior year and just show up for graduation;
- Feels like a hot piece of lead on my forehead.
Extra Credit TRUE or FALSE This is a big decision and requires the best resources, information and people available.
